Courtyard Town Garden

Reading, Berkshire

This tiny garden was dark and filled with huge conifers. Despite living in the house for many years the garden had never been used. A diagonal design was used to make the garden feel wider, with sawn sandstone paving and brick bands echoing the brick of the house. A generous lower level space allowed for dining with a path to a second seating area and the client’s garage. Planting was lush and architectural, with bamboos, phormiums, ferns and grasses.
