This shady garden in Newbury sloped steeply away from the house. It was designed to provide a level, low maintenance solution for the client, who was about to retire. A reconstituted deck, replicating weathered oak, was chosen for its clean lines and virtually no maintenance requirements. It was flanked by raised oak sleeper beds with an area of porcelan paving for dining, as another stunning but low maintenance solution. A simple drilled boulder water feature and Acers, ferns, hostas and gravel, gave the garden an oriental feel.
