Naturalistic Country Garden

Bucklebury, Berkshire

With the river Pang running alongside and open views to farmland the client wanted a garden design that helped make the best of the rural location in a small Berkshire village. The awkward triangular shape was disguised with a curved set terrace and a meandering path up the garden to a small vegetable area at the point. Planting was naturalistic with grasses and perennials. Native plants were introduced to the riverside. A narrow north facing area to the side of the house was turned into a terrace with pergolas over and more cottage style planting, all accessed via stepping stones through a gravel garden.
